Here's a new track from J. Cole, "It Won't Be Long." I love that these words actually have meaning; they are not simply some words that sounded good together.
Kanye, Charlie Wilson and Beyonce come together to create this new track, 'See Me Now'. Kanye actually recorded this last night. So I guess Beyonce is all good with Kanye and his Taylor Swift speech incident.... Hit the link to listen and download.
The lady in the video below does all of this for a McNugget... Dang girl the McChicken is only a buck! Guess she was "lovin'" them waaaaay too much. :o)
Here's a track that was released last year on the radio, but was not meant to be released until now. It's a chill song, not typical commercial Drake by any means; k-os kills it in my opinion.
The beautiful (yes I said beautiful!) Trey Songz is releasing another album. Here's the album cover, and this will hit stores on September 14th, 2010. Tracklisting is as follows:
Sorry for the hiatus again, VEGAS happened ;o). I was in daze for a bit, but I am back so please keep checking back. Also, you can share my posts on twitter or facebook or whatever by clicking the share buttons below. Now on to what this post is about....
Wale's new mixtape is out, "More About Nothing." I think this is Wale at his best; this is him at his roots. Only Wale is featured on the 21 tracks, so there aren't any big name stars to bail him out, which I prefer. Take a listen and download ---> http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/12150/wale_more_about_nothing.html
This is hilarioussssss. I love Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd. Oh Lebron... You have seriously made for some of the best drama the league has ever seen. Enjoy!
New track from Kid Cudi's new album Man on the Moon II. This song is called "Erase Me" and it features Kanye West. The song got leaked a while back, but that was only a radio rip.
Here's something new from Drake off of his upcoming mixtape "No More Thanks You's". Everyone seems to anticipate great things from this new creation, so here's the first taste. Is this more like the old Drake? Take a listen ;o).
Here's some flicks from the upcoming Hundreds Fall/Winter Collection. I included only the stuff that I liked, so you can search online if you want to see more. I love the grey sweater in the first photo and the last one with the boy and the bomb on it. I think that style of sweater looks so good on guy's frame, hint for those that care about what a woman thinks ;o). Anyways, enjoy!
Hey everyone, I had a little hiatus, but I'm back. Check the video out below. It's a spoof by Affion Crockett of Drake's Tim Westwood freestyle. Go to the 2:29 mark.... Makes me laugh out loud and you will too if you know about Drake's comment about Weezy a little while back. Check it out, laugh it up ;o),
I knew this would happen... Drake's album sales were no where near a match for Eminem's "Recovery" sales. Drake sold 462,989; whereas, Eminem sold 741,000 copies. I think if Drake had released his album closer to the hype of "Best I Ever Had" then maybe he could've pulled off more sales with his mediocre album. However, the album did not live up to expectations and even though those expectations were very high, I think he could have done it if he stuck true to his roots: his mixtape work. Well, congratulations to Eminem, proving that you do not need all the hype and promotion if you truly produce work that speaks for itself.
I feel random today, so I decided to share my favorite song of all time. You wouldn't think a song recorded in 1967 would be my choice, but "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay" by Otis Redding is timeless.
I first heard it when I was in middle school, and I was instantly in love. I played this song on repeat for days on end. The song has a haunting quality to it. It was one of the few times that Redding wrote most of the lyrics about himself.
Take a listen if you have never heard this class, and if you already know all about it, refresh your memory :o).
Drake was on Jimmy Kimmel yesterday and here's the twitter rap spoof they came up with. Nice to see the lighter side of Drake and to see him acting a little bit too ;o).
This song popped up in my iPod today and it just made me smile. The song is "In Ya Phone" by Trey Songz featuring Fabolous. Hope you enjoy it and maybe it will make your day a little brighter :o). As a side note, Trey Songz is beautiful and I would like the sunglasses he's wearing in the picture above. Okay that is all.
This is the link to see the Drake documentary in case you missed it and don't want to wait for it to get put up on YouTube. The documentary shows Drake backstage, writing and just his life in general right now.
I am a big fan of documentaries like this; I feel like you learn a great deal about the person behind the glitz and glamor. Like Drizzy's mentor, Lil Wayne, he let cameras into his life to make his fans understand he "really [does] have a desire to grow and get better."
So John Wall, the undisputed number one pick in the upcoming 2010 NBA Draft, has made one of the many important decisions that will shape his career. As a pro athlete in the NBA, endorsements are big and one of the most important is the choice of shoe company. There's Nike, Adidas, Converse, Reebok etcetera. So who did John Wall sign with last week??? *Drum Roll*
=====> REEBOK!
Really??? I think I understand the fact that he wants to blaze his own path or whatnot, but Reebok has got to be one of the worst makers of basketball shoes (in my opinion). Nike is by far superior with its ever-growing technological advancements in terms of weight, and materials. Wall was given offers by Reebok, Nike and Under Armor. Most people are speculating there was a big issue, which forced him to pass up on Nike. Maybe John Wall is hoping that he can bring the brand back from the dumps, but I would guess that his first couple shoes will be crap for the most part. They may look fresh, but I doubt the way they are built will compete in any way to Nike kicks.
The video is filmed in his home town, which is great since Cole is big on repping his city. On BET 106 & Park today, J. Cole talked about the upcoming album. He said it is only one song away from being completed and that there are absolutely no features from other artists on it. I personally LOVE this. He is someone who stays true to who he is and wants his first album to be his own. He speculates the album will be done in November, but he's working on it coming out sooner. Be on the lookout for this great artist.
Here's the leak of the first single off of Twista's upcoming album, Perfect Storm. The song is titled "I Do" and is produced by Traxster. I think the song is catchy, so hopefully you like it too. If you don't like rap, don't listen though.
Since the song, Nothin' On You, was such a hit, I thought that I should post this remix of it. Lupe Fiasco takes the place of B.o.B. and Bruno Mars is still on the hook. I love Lupe, so I really like this version. I have heard this song a ridiculous amount of times, so I almost want to fast forward through Bruno and skip to Lupe :o). Anyways, ENJOY!
So I tried the Chic Print for Nails from Sephora, which is shown in the pic above. The nails were easy to apply, but the shape of the nails was too large for my own so I had to cut them down a bit. They say you can use an ultra fine crystal nail file, but I didn't have one so it was a tad hard. Nevertheless, the nails looked cute and the choice of designs are pretty good. I would recommend the nails if you want something different for a night out :o).
The sequel for Stomp the Yard will go straight to DVD September 21st. I'm kind of surprised that the movie isn't going to hit theatres. The list of stars include:
I am excited for Columbus Short, Terrence J and Pooch Hall (isn't every girl??); however, Kiely Williams is from Cheetah Girls and the last time I checked, she wasn't the best actress.... But I guess we will see. Teyana Taylor and David Banner should also be interesting since their comfort zone is usually music.
The link for the trailer is below, check it out. Are YOU planning on seeing it??
They are sooo cute! This may take some practice, but it is possible. Also, you could buy the fake nails from a place like Walmart (they come in a tupperware container) and paint them while they aren't attached to your digits :o). Send me any nail pics or any DIY ideas to my email kimkishi@hotmail.com. Good luck!
Here's a new freestyle by J. Cole, it has been one year since the The Warm Up so this is his way of showing his appreciation for the fans. This freestyle is over Dirty Money's "Angels" which samples Jay-Z's "Where I'm From."
J.Cole said this in a recent interview, "It’s wild to me when I show up in places like Houston, Atlanta, Richmond, Ohio, University of Maryland, NYC, so many other cities and schools, and the whole crowd knows every word to every song. Seeing that it’s so early in my career, only 1 single out, that’s a blessing. Thank you.”
The video for "All I Want is You" by Miguel featuring J. Cole is finally up on YouTube. Hit the link below to check it out. I love this song, it's nice and mellow. What do you guys think?
So here is another DIY idea. Just buy some plain sunglasses in a design that you like and then take something you want to bling it out with such as studs, chains or maybe some old jewelry. Then all you have to do is take some superglue or a glue gun and start attaching the details. Simple :o).
Take a look at the ones that Camille did above, by the way, her twitter is http://twitter.com/fab_rockstar <<--- FOLLOW NOWWW.
I cannot get this song out of my head. Think it's my theme song right now. It's Rich Girl featuring Rick Ross and Fabolous, "Swagga Right Remix" and you can hear it here if you click on the link ;o).
The pictures above are some fake nails that I bought from Walmart and decided to design. I figured it would be way easier doing intricate design on nails that weren't attached to my hand. To make sure the nails don't move around while you're painting them, stick them down with tape to secure onto a piece of paper. I am going try some other designs soon as well. What do you think of my work so far??
So i decided to cut my own bangs.... for the first time. Scary I know, especially since I am bad at using scissors just to cut paper. But nevertheless, I tried it. I utilized YouTube tutorials from various people to help me figure out the basics. Overall, it turned out how I wanted it. Right now it's a little choppy, but it's kind of edgy so I like it. I could go through and make a few more snips to make it even if I wanted to, just cutting straight up with the scissors.
The song, "Wavin' Flag" by K'naan was redone with a load of Canadian recording artists to produce one of the best tribute to Haiti songs. The song features artists such as Nelly Furtado, LIGHTS, Justin Nozuka, Avril Lavigne, Kardinal Offishall, Drake and even Justin Bieber. For the music fans, I truly believe that Drake's verse in it is some of his best work. Here's some of his verse:
"See we don’t have to wait for things to break apart if you weren’t involved before it’s never too late to start you probably think that it’s too far to even have to care
well take a look at where you live what if it happened there?"
The song will appear in NBA 2K10 and will be the anthem for the 2010 Fifa World Cup. This is pretty amazing for something that started as a simple song for an artist, K'naan, and evolved into a collaboration for the record books. Please take a listen, just search for it on my mixpod playlist on the right hand column :o).
Also, Haiti is still in dire need of help, such as removing the approximately 19 million cubic meters of debris that the earthquake created. You can find how you can help at the Canadian Red Cross website -->http://www.redcross.ca/
The 2010 colorways for the Hyperdunk are here and they are set to come out this Fall. These are supposed to be the lightest Hyperdunk yet. They integrate next-generation Flywire technology for the ultimate in speed without sacrificing support and comfort. The new shoe features Nike Zoom for responsive cushioning for every launch and landing.
I like the bottom ones because the aqua green color is something different. And the black ones look like a nice standard shoe; however, the green crocodile print ones are not my cup of tea. I'm sure someone will love them... that someone not being me! :o)
If you just cannot wait for Thank Me Later, Drake's debut album, here is a link to download it all. I was definitely planning on purchasing the album up until a couple months ago and realized that this music was good; however, not on the same level as his mixtape tracks from the past. But please, be the judge :o).
